Who We Are
We are a small, family run, independent plant nursery growing carefully selected plants in Hillsborough, Co Down.
We grow our hardy perennials, slowly as nature intended, with as little intervention from us as possible. We believe this produces strong, healthy plants.
It is all about growing the plants that we (me with my brother’s help - more on him later) have come to love over the years. Plants that we have used time and time again and have performed brilliantly.
Peter also studied at the same time and has gone from being an Award Winning Landscape Designer to Head Gardener of a fantastic country estate and garden which is his full time job, but he is happy to help me pick out what interesting plants to grow and is called on for lots of advice, he may even be seen at a local market occasionally if he’s free.
Even before Horticultural college, I have been a keen collector of interesting plants and trees, visiting many beautiful gardens, Botanic Gardens and specialist nurseries, always gathering information, ideas and advice as I go.
After qualifying, I have been a gardener and Head Gardener in amazing gardens of large stately homes in England and Ireland, as well as smaller private gardens during my time in New Zealand. With over 15 years of growing, designing, maintaining, arranging plants and flowers, I have opened a small, independent plant nursery in Hillsborough, Co Down.
