Penstemon digitalis ‘Husker Red’

Penstemon digitalis ‘Husker Red’

Penstemon digitalis 'Husker Red' is a bushy, clump forming, semi evergreen herbaceous perennial with dark green / deep red wine coloured leaves and stems which contrast nicely with the white / blushed with pink flowers that appear from late spring throughout the summer months. This Penstemon works well in the garden or in containers.

  • Common Name

Foxglove Beardtongue - sounds like someone from Game of Thrones

  • Height and Spread

    1m x 0.5m

  • Cultivation

Grow in a sunny position in light, well drained soil.

  • Additional information

Dead head and tidy any messy leaves early spring.

Works well in containers or at the front / middle of a border.  It's lovely beetroot coloured leaves bring contrast to green foliage.  I like it through grasses in my containers
