Linaria purpurea 'Canon Went'

Linaria purpurea 'Canon Went'

Linaria purpurea 'Canon Went' is a tall, willowy herbaceous perennial with spike of delicate, tiny pink flowers.  I hadn't grown this plant before but my brother ordered the seeds, so now we have it and I'm glad we do.  My friend Angela added it to her garden this spring and it has performed amazingly, spreading to at least 50cm and rising above all the other flowers in a very delicate manner.  Its very subtle and pretty. I will see what it is like as a cut flower.

  • Common Name

    Purple Toad Flax, Toad Flax

  • Height and Spread

    0.9m x 0.30m

  • Cultivation

This Linaria is a fully hardy herbaceous, deciduous perennial. So it will die back in the winter and come back again in the spring.

It likes full sun, moist but well drained soil.

It is thriving in garden around the countryside and even in a very exposed, windy garden here in Ireland.
