This is a great winter flowering, herbaceous perennial.  It has dark green, leathery leaves with nodding, white, bowl shaped flowers appearing during Jan / Fed / Mar.  It is a  great food source for bees during the winter months. It works well in containers, at the front of herbaceous borders and under trees, shrubs and roses.  A small delicate plant that will brighten up your garden or containers during the winter months - keep it close to a window or door so you can still see it even if you don't venture out!

    Grow in moist but well drained, fertile soil.  It grows best in part shade to full shade.  Cut away old, dead or untidy leaves early winter, before the flowers appear.  They will enjoy a mulch of compost or well rotten manure.
