A hardy herbaceous perennial with mid green leaves, flowers appear on erect, tall stems during mid summer through to late autumn.  It is a great plant for bringing warm, vibrant colour to your garden when other plants are starting to fade.  They have daisy like, crimson red flowers with a centre dome of dark red which is circled with orange stamens.  Great bee friendly plant and does really well as a cut flower.

  • Cultivation

    Grows in most soil conditions as long as it is moist but well drained, full sun is preferred, promoting more flowers than if in part shade but it will tolerate some shade.

    Deadhead to keep flowers coming and cut back in winter or spring to tidy up.

    Great for bees.  

    Also a brilliant flower for cutting, bringing a rich colour to an arrangement and will last up to 7 days in a vase if cut and conditioned well.
