Dryopteris affinis 'Pinderi'

Dryopteris affinis 'Pinderi'

Dryopteris affinis 'Pinderi' is an evergreen / semi evergreen hardy fern.  It is a robust, clump forming fern with large upright fronds reaching up to 1m in height. The fronds emerge and yellow / green before turning a deep green with age.  Very low maintenance and great for a woodland garden or, as it will tolerate some dry spells, good for underplanting of trees and shrubs.

  • Common Name

    Pinders Golden Scaled Fern

    1.0m x 1.0m

  • Cultivation

Grow in shade or partial shade, moist but well drained soil.  It will tolerate dry shade once established.  A mulch around the base of the fronds will help it get established and retain moisture levels.

Very low maintenance, aging or damaged fronds can be removed early spring before the new ones start to emerge.
