Dryopteris affinis
A strong hardy fern, with erect, tall fronds reaching up to 1.2m in height. Very handsome addition to a shady part of the garden and will clump up nicely. Easy to grow and has been Awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit.

Cultivation
This fern is best suited to a moist shady or partially shaded spot of the garden. It will tolerate dry conditions but only once it is established and will tolerate sun aslong as it does not dry out. A good mulch when planting will help to retain moisture levels and well rotten leafould annually would be beneficial.
Low maintenance, generally disease and pest free. Old fronds can be removed as needed.
