This is a lovely mid to late spring flowering herbaceous perennial.  It has lush grey / green leaves with cyclamen shaped flowers that have deep magenta pink petals sweeping back on themsleves.  It is a great plant for the front of a border, perennial container, rock garden and cottage garden. The ancient meaning for this plants name is Flower of the Twelve Gods.

 

Dies back completely in the autumn, with fresh foliage appearing again early spring.
