Cultivation
Grow Dianthus cruentus in moist but well-drained, neutral to alkaline soil, in full sun. It’s perfect for growing in rockeries, at the front of borders, and in containers but can also work well in large herbaceous plantings.
Lightly cut back plants after flowering to promote new growth, and prune again in spring to maintain a neat shape. Ensure the plants are not exposed to extremely wet conditions in winter.
