Gaura lindheimeri
I fell in love with Gaura lindheimeri a long time ago visiting the South of France and seeing it used in container planting and in beds and borders mixed in with grasses and other perennials. And what is not to love, it is a delicate, clump forming herbaceous perennial with dark green leaves and white, star like flowers on stems borne above the foliage. Lovely, whispy addition to the garden or can also be grown in containers. The flowers dance in the breeze. Leaves take on a lovely autumnal red colour when temperatures start to drop. The RHS has awarded it their Plants for Pollinators and Award for Garden Merit.
